Thank you note from Trish Brady

Dear Sharda family and friends,
On behalf of my family, myself and of course, Mum.
Many thanks to you all for the prayers, songs, and honouring of Mum's life and passing. The outpouring of love and support has been both awesome and humbling.
She would have been blown away by the ceremonies done on her behalf, as there were at least 3-4 groups here, Australia, and the U.S.A, who tuned in, at 2pm 31st Dec, to join with our service in Whakatane, for her send off.
As I write this letter, there is a feeling of peace and happiness, and a sense of completion...that she's has moved onto a higher place and has become part of the elder breathren who help and support all of Mother/Father God's creation as we walk the journey of life at this time.
Thank you all once again
Arohanui
Trish

Christmas Eve at Sharda

This Christmas Eve was a bit sombre as in the midst of light-hearted activities, Trish received word of her mother's passing. The evening started with a shared dinner and then we were entertained by Jessica and Shareen who sang for us. We then sat round the wood-block altar (a Sharda tradition) and lit candles while reading angel cards. Fe entertained us with a carol and Aliah & Alim sang another. Then it was Secret Santa prezzies followed by group carol singing.

When the news came, we got together and said the prayer for the dead. We remembered Ngaire in the short service. Basira then drove Trish on a 4 hour journey back home. The few of us that remained went to the Tyburn Monastery later for midnight mass following Halima's tradition.

Obituary - Ngaire Roberts

Ngaire was a long-time member of the Sharda community and knew Halima well. She was the mother of Trish Brady. She passed over on 23 Dec. 2008 and her funeral will be on Wed. 31 Dec at 2 pm at Willets, King Street, Whakatane. Her memorial service will be held at Sharda at a later date.
